‘What my Shoes miss: Au-toe-biography of my Shoes’

What my shoes miss:
Getting out of the closet
Stretching out, preparing for the day
Bidding adieu to their roomies

They miss the streets near my house
And the roads that take me away

They miss walking into air-conditioned salons
And the grainy sand at the beach

They miss waiting outside the temple and making new friends while they do
And swiveling along my dance moves when I do too

They miss getting tired of all the mall-walks
And feeling insecure while I try other shoes

They miss the pace
Where’s the race?
They need to move
Before they forget their old grove.
