I have always been a girl who loved feminine dresses. They help me achieve an effortless and chic style. Which is why the Section of Dresses in my style stockpile is the most important one.
Here is how that section looks-
\r\n
1) White dresses have slowly made way to my dress-shelf. White dresses are so elegant yet have a relaxed vibe. One of my favorite white dresses is a maxi-length white dress from H&M.
When I found this dress on the H&M website I instantly fell in love with it. It has beautiful Victorian detail on the neckline and the sleeve pattern. It not only is a super timeless and versatile dress but also an easy to style one. As you can see from the picture, I have mashed up its western-ness with some Indian flavor. And that is why this dress has been a wise investment.
2) Another white dress that I absolutely adore is a midi-length Zara dress. Zara has forever been my favorite brand to shop from.
This dress has a sundowner vibe to it. At the same time, it is apt for high tea or fancy lunch plans. It is the easiest piece to pull out when I have to dress up for an important informal event. It has a beautiful silhouette and asymmetrical sleeve pattern that mirrors the bottom. Here I have styled the dress with tie-up round toe flats which creates a natural theme for the look.
3) With time my wardrobe is built of a certain color palette. One of the key pieces to the pastel color scheme is my pink maxi-length dress from Cover Story.
What I love about this dress is the mashed floral print, the subtle yellow color tones play with pink and a layered tutu pattern. It brightens up my entire ensemble so easily. When styled with a neutral colored bag like this (a Chloé dupe), it brings a whole new sophistication to the table.
4) Apart from the light-colored dresses, I consider my maroon midi-length dress from The Label Life my favorite statement dress.
The deep color of the dress gives the illusion of a royal texture. It elevates the style to another level. My favorite detail about this dress is the way the belt falls on the waistline. It’s my go-to dress for Christmas or for a dinner with my girls. Again, I have styled it with my H&M tie-up flats. This tie-up pattern of the shoes works very well with the bow detail of the dress. Also, the light pink tome of the shies contrasts seamlessly with the maroon.
5) If I were to pick only one dress out of the entire section, it would be this beautiful brown flowy dress from H&M.
As it is evident, I am a big H&M fan. They have some on-trend yet classic pieces that are worth investing in. They will be your allies for years and years to come. This is that kind of dress. The combination of the dark neutral brown with floral prints is an absolute delight. The ruffle detail at the bottom is just icing on the cake. It is my “Mood-lifting” dress. Styling it with this black Chanel dupe and high knee boots is surely giving this look some \”December in Europe\” vibes!
6) Another one from Cover Story.
If there was a dress made for my love for retro and polka dots- it would be this dress! Even though this girly chic skater dress has a super casual vibe, the choker detail and the flowy sleeves add a touch of seriousness to it. I have styled it with some stockings and trainers because I had a long day to explore Milan, but you can dress it up with some heels and a statement bag.
7) Another apparel brand that I absolutely admire is AND. And this yellow and white midi-length dress is a summer staple of my dress section.
Every detail is of this dress is a coherent story. The button down neckline compliments the vertical stripes, the bodice complements the loose drape below it and the soft yellow color compliments the white. All of these make the dress a perfect, casual and feminine summer dress. It is the most comfortable dress for long travel days or other casual commitments. \r\n(P.S.- I am bare feet in this picture because I was at a Hindu temple where one is not allowed to enter with footwear on).
8) The next dress is again a midi-length dress that I shopped from a local boutique in Mumbai.
As it is already established, my style is quite feminine. The pastel shade of this dress was the deal-breaker in making its way to my feminine outfits. The small floral pin-ups on the sleeves, and a classy bodice and a flowy pattern make it a fun spring-summer dress.
9) This next dress is a Mango dark pink knee-length piece.
As you can see, I have styled it with some woolen stockings at it was freezing cold in Paris, where the picture is shot. But I also dress it up with some pointed toe heels for my evening situations. And it is this versatility that makes the dress a sustainable outfit choice.
10) My final key dress in the list is this floral dress from Cover Story.
‘, ‘
It is perfect for pictures and for a casual holiday vibe. It is also super comfortable. The pastel floral prints contrast so pleasingly.
So these are the top 10 dresses from my wardrobe. I wear all of them very often and that means I take extra care in maintaining them with respect to washing, steaming and placing. I hope this insight into my section of dresses inspires you to analyze your style preferences when it comes to dresses or helps you shop more consciously so that you invest in the dresses that will work for you for a long long time!
