6 Things To Do In Rome
Rome, the city of Romance; Rome the city of History. Call it anything, Rome will and must take your breath away- owing to its magnificent architecture, time-galloping history, wall-paper like city-scapes and marvelously delicious food.
When in Rome dine as the Romans do. If you ever dreamt of eating at a classic Italian Ristorante Ristorante Alfredo is just the right place to be at! I ordered a Margherita and a caramel cut for dessert. It really matched up to the Italian meal of my expectations.
The best way to explore Rome is on foot. I walked a great deal through the grand Roman streets. The buildings of Santa Maria Maggiore transported me to a medieval time in History. An enchanting experience, I felt I was soaking the Roman sunshine and street life to the fullest. The streets were mostly empty, with trash bins lined up in order and cars parked in their border. When I had my first Macchiato at a tiny café where everyone was watching football with their respective coffees in hand, the Roman street magic came to life.
The Colosseum was a humbling as well as an experience of grandeur. It is that feeling I had when I first saw the Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal! The Colosseum is magnificent, huge and beautiful. It instantly rolled me back years in time and history. It seemed as if the Colosseum was the only structure standing in history while everyone and everything around it has moved ahead in time. It truly was an experience of a lifetime.
The Italian staple- coffee is one of my favorite beverages now. Have any kind of coffee that you can have while in Rome. The Lattes, the Macchiatos, the espressos- each one of them fill your brain with energy.
What makes Rome a historic city is its age-old monuments. They date back to times that our mind needs to travel for a long time. One of the beautiful archaic monuments is the Pantheon. It is so classic from the outside with intricate details on the inside. The artists performing outside the Pantheon placed me right into the century it was built in.
If you crave some Holiness on Christmas and its frenzy, Vatican should be your choice.
In all, Rome was a classic experience that I had always wished for. Walking through the Roman alleys, eating the Italian cuisines and brooding in the footsteps of the Colosseum over its beauty. So Roam in Rome for pursuing these types of experiences.
Grazie Roma.
